The Arts

The Arts at Northview Heights Secondary School incorporate Visual Arts, Drama, Music, Dance, and Physical Education. This integration of departments provides all students with infinite cross-curricular learning opportunities. Our graduates are well prepared for entrance to the Ontario College of Art and Design, Ryerson University, Sheridan College, York University and the University of Toronto.

New emerging technologies and facilities, whether in the Creative Design Centre, the Music area, in our new Dance studio and Drama studio or in the Gym, will give the Arts student an academic and creative advantage that is essential to succeed in today’s competitive world.

Visual Arts
We offer traditional drawing, sculpture and painting classes along with fashion design, computers in art, information design and photography. Digital imagery is offered in our new iMac lab.

Dramatic Arts
Students will gain expertise in performance and theatre production as well as costume design, lighting, direction and scripting.

Music
Students, whether vocal, instrumental, traditional or contemporary, will refine their skills to the highest level of excellence.

Dance
Students gain knowledge in technique, theory, composition and presentation. These are combined to stimulate the students’ creative and expressive abilities.

  • The Arts at Northview combine to form excellence in education
