The Northview Business program strives to give students a breadth of opportunities to experience their learning in and outside the classroom and across curriculum.
In 2018-19, students participated in DECA, SheBiz, The Rotman Challenge and a number of Junior Achievement programs to develop skills, enter competitions and test their business acumen in accounting, marketing, stock market, entrepreneurship and financial literacy.
A focus on innovation and “out of the box” thinking is encouraged across all our business courses to prepare our students for new jobs and careers in the 21st century.
Northview offers a broad range of Business Courses
Grade 9 Information Technology in Business and Communications (also offered as an ESL course) Grade 10 Introduction to Business (also offered as an ESL course) Grade 11 Introduction to Marketing *Entertainment and Sports Marketing (NEW Course offered this Fall 2019) Financial Accounting Fundamentals (also offered as an ESL course) Grade 12 Financial Accounting Principles International Business Business Management and Leadership Financial Securities
Northview students also have the opportunity to participate in Business Club initiatives through the Phoenix Nest. Students can also run small ventures in order to earn income for a charitable organization of there choice. This year, the club is contributing to the North York Harvest Food Bank.
